Chapter 41
“This is so nice”, Vanessa said.
She was still staring at her phone. Trey just sent her an image of his wedding invitation card. He was getting married to Selma. Although, Trey wanted the wedding ceremony after their child’s birth but Selma insisted that it should come before it.
They had picked a dress code of white and purple. The favorite colors of each couple. Trey loved Purple while Selma loved White.
“Where is it holding?”, Roberts asked after he took a peep on her phone.
“Here in Florida. They are coming back home tomorrow”, she answered.

Another image came in,
She opened it immediately. Vanessa saw it and then she dropped her phone in shock.
It was her wedding day too. Roberts and Trey had it all planned. They were getting married on the same day. Also, the same set of colors and venue.
Vanessa couldn’t believe it. She hugged Roberts and gave him what he could have called the best kiss of his life.

“There is something you need to know”, Vanessa said to Roberts.
“Oh really, go on”, he answered.
“Danica is actually someone I know”, she said.
“Wait, what?!, how?”, he asked.
“We were course mates in college but we never talked to each other”, she said.
“Oh , that is what you wanted to say”, Roberts answered with a sigh of relief.
“I-, I was the reason she ended her relationship with her boyfriend before you”, she said.
“How? and Why did you?”, he asked.
“She, she was -“, Vanessa was talking when she screamed in pain.
*****
“How is she doing?”, Roberts asked the doctor.
They had been in the hospital for the past two hours and twenty seven minutes. Vanessa fainted at the house.
“She is doing fine now”, the doctor answered.
“She really just need rest, eat well and regular check up. The child is doing well also”, the doctor confirmed.
Selma was also in the hospital at Canada, but for a different reason. She went to pick up the bag she left behind two days ago when she came for the antenatal checkup.
She was given an appointment the following week to come check the result of the pregnancy scan to know the gender of the child she was carrying.

“We never really spoke about your family”, Trey said to Selma.
“You did not tell me about your family”, Vanessa said to Roberts.
It would have been a moment of long discussion for each couple, but it just ended with,
“I have got none”, Selma answered.
“I have got none”, Roberts answered.
“You have me as your family now”, Trey said to Selma as he stood up to give her a hug.
“I miss my mom”, Roberts and Vanessa said simultaneously.
*****
Selma was on the verge of giving birth. They have moved back to Canada two weeks and one day ago. Vanessa was still only twenty seven weeks and four days pregnant.
Trey was scared and nervous. His breathing was faster and his heart was pumping blood really fast also. The nurses kept assuring that the delivery process would be successful and both the child and mother would be fine.
*****
Few weeks earlier,
They had their wedding alongside Trey’s elder sister. The wedding took place at the beach side in town. Selma had all the bills and cost cleared by her. It was a ceremony flooded with friends and almost no family from each couple. Roberts’ aunt was present. There was also a surprise guest, Danica.
Surprisingly, she gave the new family her blessings and gave them gifts. Although, she left the party with tears she was not alone. She just met a new guy Simeon, but she was not as connected as she was with Roberts.
She was not done even after leaving the party, she texted Vanessa.
“I wish I had you killed since we met in college. Lost two relationships because of you. Trust me you will not win on this”,
Danica.
*****
Danica had Roberts kidnapped. There was no calls or texts towards his release. Until this very day. A call came in.
“Hey”, Danica said to Vanessa. She just called her on phone.
“Hi. Is Roberts with you? He promised not to leave me”, Vanessa asked crying.
“Don’t speak to me with tears in your speech. I don’t care about how you feel. I cried also!” Danica responded.
“Two hundred and ninety nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine dollars, you have your man”, Danica said.
“I will pay you the three hundred thousand dollars now. Just send your bank details”, Vanessa said immediately.
“I gave my exact price and I also want cash. The one dollar left is for your child. A gift from Aunty Danica”, she answered.
“Floral Park. Time is half past nine by evening. Come alone, else you and your man die”, she added.
Vanessa got up immediately and headed for the bank. The baby troubled her, but she managed to get into the car and drive down to the bank.
“How is she?”
“How is her child?”, the woman asked.
Vanessa got safely to the bank but as soon as she entered, she fell and lost conciousness.NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
She was rushed down to the hospital. Danica already got this information.
“Your princess is at the hospital”, Danica said to Roberts laughing.
She tied him to a chair. He was scared after she said that. He needed his Vanessa to be fine especially after he promised he would protect her.
“Don’t worry. She will be fine. Mom is with her”, Danica said to him.
“Mom?”, Roberts asked.
“Yeah, Vanessa, Trey and I are step siblings”, Danica said to him.
Roberts’ face released a shock.
“What the fuck!, How?”, he asked.
“Mom was never dead”, she said.
Vanessa’s mother, Vivian was not dead. She flew to Italy to stay with Danica’s dad who was wealthier and had a better life. She gave birth to Danica just a year after she had Vanessa. Lance travelled for a job in the United Kingdom and did not come back until three years later. Danica was already born. Her dad decided to take her to Italy but made and agreement that Vivian would always come to Italy every spring. Few years ago, Vivian wanted to come back to the United States regularly as she always did, but Kyle – Danica’s dad, would not agree. He then came up with the scheme to announce a fake death, he wanted her to be with him forever. Luckily for him, a plane going to the United States from Italy crashed. They used that as their bait, contacted the Warners and told them Vivian was gone.
