Chapter 2567
“You still need to explain how you ended up in their grasp,” Nathan pressed calmly.
“I…” Siena paled as she beheld the damning evidence displayed on the tablet.
“You’ve been addicted to drugs.
You were caught because you frequented the black market.
I had someone investigate your mother’s account.
Thirty million dollars were transferred on the same day two years ago.
That was the transaction between you and Cory.
It wasn’t a small sum for you, and apparently enough to compel you to betray someone who had aided you,” Nathan stated firmly.
“I…” Siena faltered, unable to find words to justify her actions.novelbin
“No, …”
Siena’s face went pale, and she found herself unable to speak a single word.
Within minutes of revealing her name, everything about her had been uncovered.
She couldn’t muster any excuse; the men were too efficient.
Siena cried, hoping that her tears would soften Nathan’s stance.
But Nathan didn’t even glance in her direction.
Knowing Lucinda hadn’t been caught that day, Nathan remained composed as he asked, without a hint of emotion, “Apart from instructing you to mislead me to hinder my pursuit, what else did he task you with? Does it involve Colby and Destinee?”
Not daring to hide anything from Nathan, Siena nodded and admitted, “Yes.
He asked me to gain your trust and find an opportunity to Lure the children out.”
Nathan’s face darkened at once and his eyes turned icy.
He pursed his lips tightly but didn’t say a word.
It turned out Cory really hated him! Knowing he couldn’t beat him, Cory decided to target his wife and children instead.
They had been training partners for years, but now Cory had become insane.
Nathan was really puzzled.
Was it really worth it for Cory to be a fugitive his entire life just for a wicked woman who died so many years ago?
Nathan was distracted for only a moment, and then he came to his senses.
His eyes were bright again.
He looked at Siena indifferently and asked, “Besides that, is there anything you want to tell me? You won’t get another chance so think carefully about what you’re going to say.”
Siena thought for a moment.
What she was most afraid of was being punished by them again.
“No.
Mr.
Payne, I’ve told you everything I know,” she said at last.
“Okay.
I will keep my promise and let you go.”
Siena felt a shiver run through her.
“No, Mr.
Payne, I don’t want you to let me go! I know I’m guilty.
Send me to prison!”
Looking at the woman, Nathan sneered and raised an eyebrow.
“You’re not the one to decide,” he said coldly.
Tears of fear streamed down Siena’s face.
Ignoring the pain that washed over her, she crawled to Nathan’s feet and reached for his trousers, begging.
“Mr.
Payne! Please don’t do that to me.
I don’t want to go out.
That man will kill me!”
