CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1509

Mrs. Lucas showed no sympathy as she watched Jamie break down in tears. Her only concern was securing the recording to help clear Ben's name.

But Jamie's emotional state made Mrs. Lucas suspicious. "Why does everything line up so perfectly?" she questioned.

Jamie raised her hand as if swearing an oath. "I ran into Caden while working a part-time job, and the recording was pure luck. Mrs. Lucas, I'd never joke about my own son's safety." Jamie's firm tone, coupled with her tear-streaked face, carried an air of desperation.

As a woman and a mother herself, Mrs. Lucas could read Jamie's emotions clearly. But deep inside, a new thought began to form.

If Jamie's child were gone, it would break Jamie completely. If she were to lose her mind or even die from the grief, how could Ben possibly continue to hold on to any lingering feelings for her? Mrs. Lucas's resolve hardened as an idea took root.

"Give me the recording," she said, her tone steady. "I'll make sure something is done to help your son."

As Jamie handed over her phone, a sudden sense of unease struck her. She froze, her instincts kicking in.

"You wouldn't agree so easily unless you had an ulterior motive," Jamie said, her voice trembling. "I know you want me gone, out of Ben's life for good."

Mrs. Lucas's brief flicker of discomfort was all the confirmation Jamie needed.

Taking the opportunity, Jamie said, "Then give me a written agreement."

Mrs. Lucas, with her connections and influence, had the power to rally resources and save Charlie. As for Ben, he was only temporarily under suspicion. Once the recording was used, he would be freed.

Jamie's sharp thinking left Mrs. Lucas with no choice but to agree. She ordered a formal agreement to be drafted, and only after it was signed did Jamie transfer the recording to her.

With the recording in hand, Mrs. Lucas mobilized all her resources to rescue Charlie.

The masked man never expected such swift retaliation. Holding onto Charlie had become a liability. Left with no other option, he abandoned Charlie but not before injecting him with an unknown substance, something that would force Ben to beg him for a cure later. Charlie was returned safely to Jamie by Mrs. Lucas's team. When Jamie finally held Charlie in her arms, tears streamed down her face.

Charlie clung tightly to her. "Mommy, I thought I'd never see you again."

Jamie's voice cracked as she replied, "I thought the same, sweetheart."

Her relief was overwhelming, and she assumed the swift rescue was thanks to Mrs. Lucas's extensive network. Little did she know, the masked man had let the boy go on purpose. en All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

The masked man later called Winnie.

"Winnie, the child you're carrying is Ben's, but to Ben, you've only ever been a pawn. Now, if Ben discovers that Jamie's son is actually his child,

what do you think he'll dove

His slow, deliberate words hit Winnie like a hammer.

Ben had numerous intimate interactions with Jamie, and his approach toward Winnie was merely a way to get closer to Jamie.

The depth of Ben's love for Jamie was matched only by the intensity of his hatred.

If Ben ever discovered that he and Jamie had a child together, where would that leave Winnie? What place would she have in his life then?

Winnie's voice turned cold. "I don't need you to remind me of that."

The masked man chuckled softly. "If I were you, I wouldn't let that child live."

Winnie ended the call abruptly, her hands shaking.

She desperately wanted to stay by Ben's side. She feared the

consequences if he ever learned the truth. But what was the masked man suggesting? That she harm a child?

Her own nephew?

Charlie called her "Aunt Winnie" with such innocence and love. How could she ever do something so monstrous?

Her mind was a storm of conflicting thoughts.
