Chapter 1009

Chapter 1009 Meeting Montague

Emrys was joking when he suddenly felt a chill beside him.

He turned his head and glanced at Yelena.

Yelena flashed a captivating smile. Howev returned again.

as Emrys shifted his gaze away, the chill

Emrys‘ face immediately fell. He begged for mercy, saying, “Lena, I know I was wrong, please don’t be mad at me, okay?”

“What did you do wrong?”

Yelena smiled and said, “You were having a good chat, and suddenly you mentioned me. It makes it seem like I’m petty.”

“Enough chatting.”

Emrys had no choice but to give up. But at this moment, Chloe spoke earnestly, “I can’t figure it out. I don’t know you well enough to guess something even more impressive about you.”

She was evidently responding to the question Emrys had just asked.

It was originally just a joke, but she took it seriously again. She gazed at Emrys earnestly asi waiting for his answer.

Emrys didn’t want to continue this topic, but since someone asked, it would be impolite not to answer. So he smiled awkwardly and said, “My tongue is more impressive.”

“Your tongue is more impressive?”

Chloe looked at Emrys with a puzzled expression.

“In Chanaea, there’s an idiom called ‘hit someone where it hurts,‘ which means using one’s

way of eloquence to break through the enemy’s psychological defenses. It’s the most ruthless killing. When dealing with those extremely detestable opponents, I like to use this method, relying on my silver tongue. So my tongue skills are even better than my martial arts skills.”

“So that’s how it is. I really hope that one day, I can witness Mr. Emrys’s tongue skills. Of course, I don’t mean to have you hit me where it hurts,” said Chloe with a serious expression.

Emrys was embarrassed. “Let’s talk about it later.”

“Right, there’s still plenty of time in the future. Chloe, you’ll definitely have the opportunity

After speaking, she seductively gazed at Emrys, softly asking, “Isn’t that right, Rys?”

Emrys felt a bit uneasy, unable to figure out her personality.

After pondering for a moment, Chloe said, “Yelena, although I want to get to know Mr. Lund better, he’s your boyfriend. I’ve said earlier that I’ll keep my distance from him.”

As they chatted, they arrived at their destination.

The car came to a halt in front of a luxurious mansion.

The bodyguard got out of the car and opened the door.

Some bodyguards also came out from the villa, standing neatly in two rows, welcoming Chloe. They looked imposing.

“Chloe, did you pick up your friend?”

A middle–aged man walked out with a smile on his face. It was none other than Montague Stonefield, Chloe’s father, also the president of Montague Association.

Emrys and Yelena stepped out of the car.

Chloe made the introduction. “Father, this is my best friend Yelena Lynch, whom I got to know when I was studying abroad in Chanaca.”

“Ms. Lynch, I’ve often heard Chloe speak of you. It’s a pleasure to meet you finally.”

“Mr. Stonefield, you’re quite fluent in Chanaean.”

“Not at all. Now that Chanaca has grown formidable, everyone around the world is learning Chanaean. If I don’t pick up a few phrases, wouldn’t I be behind the times?” He chuckled.

Montague was quite humorous. He smiled warmly, then looked at Emrys. “And who is this?”

“He’s Emrys Lund, Yelena’s boyfriend.”

After Chloe finished introducing him, she added, “Mr. Lund is a martial artist!”

“A martial artist?”

Montague was just politely greeting Emrys at first, but when he heard that Emrys was a martial artist, his eyes lit up slightly. He quickly restrained himself.

“Mr. Lund, what a pleasure to meet you!”

“Just call me Emrys.”
