Chapter 11- Zeno

Chapter 11- Zeno

“Do we have to go there so early?” Francis grumbled from the back seat.

I didn’t answer him and focused on driving.

“It’s eight in the morning.” Fabian told him like it’s mid-afternoon.

I saw Francis flip him a bird. Fabian has always been an early bird. That guy can even function

perfectly on an hour’s sleep.

“Zeno why do we have to go there every day?” Fabian asked me coming forward and looking at me

from the gap of the front seats.

“You guys have been going to the Astley house daily?” Vivian asked looking at us surprised.

“Yeah this douchebag has been taking us there after school every day.” Francis snipped.

“Why?”

“Because I want to.” I answered with a straight face.

The real reason though is because I couldn’t see her in school. After the incident at the bonfire, I have

been having this weird guilt feeling in my chest. I didn’t know her situation was this serious with her

parents.

When I first met her, she was so aloof and sad. I was seven then. Despite being sad, she looked like a

doll. Her porcelain white skin, her strawberry blonde hair, her clear blue eyes, everything was so

perfect about her.

I didn’t like it.

She didn’t talk much. Not even to me but I just had this urge to know her more. Even if I was seven, I

didn’t like the way her presence affected me.

From the very beginning of when we did start to understand pack stuff, we were told that we have a Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

mate out there and she was affecting me so much. That’s not good. My mate won’t like it. I didn’t

approach her at first. Just glared at her from wherever I stood.

But everything turned worse when I entered high school. The summer before freshman year had

brought bad feeling in me like a sort of gloomy darkness. One day I was happy and the other day I

woke up to feeling empty and sad. What angered me more was that staying near her eased the

feelings. Even if I am in the same building as her or if I saw her from afar, the emptiness would subside.

I didn’t like it at all.

But that didn’t feel enough and I became greedy to have that little content in my life. I didn’t like that

she had so much control over me. So I did what I felt was a better option. I started making Fabian and

Francis distract Ben and Ethan and I started verbally bullying her. My friends never had anything

against her. They were just bored and tagged along.

I never touched her though. I am not an asshole to put my hands on a female. Well I might have gone a

little too far by warning everyone to not be friends with her but who cares. It’s not like she had any

friends to begin with. She deserves to be alone for trying to be a part of our family and pack.

The closure with her brought a new level of calmness to me. I used every opportunity I got to berate

her. She can hate me for all I care. I just needed my happy life back. A little closeness is enough. If

making her suffer brings it back, so be it. She is just a human anyways.

But she had to go and change schools. I so wanted to drag her back to Redwood high by her hair. How

can she do that to me? How am I supposed to get my daily dosage of calmness? That human is not

even good for a simple fucking thing. She is just a fucking wimp who can’t even protect herself. I don’t

know why a supernatural family accepted a human in their family.

On the bonfire day, I did feel bad… a little. I know I went overboard but she wasn’t paying attention to

me. How dare she do that? She should listen to me when I talk.

I was going to apologize for what happened that night on the first day of school but what do I find out.

That bitch ran away. She went to a totally different school. Why? No one has even a single fucking

clue. Not even her brothers know why she changed school.

If she thought she can run away from me, oh how wrong she is. I won’t let that happen. I will come to

her place daily if I have to and eventually I will force her to transfer to Redwood high.

I parked my car in the driveway of her house and got out immediately. The others followed me. I

knocked on the door and it was immediately opened by a smiling Arabella. As soon as her eyes fell on

me the light in her eyes disappeared. Her smile turned into a blank face.

“Ben, Ethan, your friends are here.” She hollered and stepped aside.

Before I could talk to her, her brothers came downstairs looking at us with a confused face.

I saw her slip to the kitchen.

“We didn’t know you guys were coming over.” Ethan said smiling.

Those two are too nice to suspect anything.

“I didn’t either.” Francis whispered from behind me.

I stepped on his feet to make him shut up.

“Yeah we just decided to come over out of nowhere. Is it alright?” I said halfheartedly but keeping a

polite smile on my face.

It’s not like they are going to kick us out.
