Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1279

Tara's mind snapped back to the present at the mere mention of the Summer family, and immediately, she felt overwhelmed.

The apothecary sourced all its medicinal herbs from the illustrious Summer family of the Martial World. However, they had decided not to renew their contract, which was a massive setback. The Summer family, though second to the Roths in rank, had something else going for them-wealth. And a lot of it.

They were loaded.

And they had this air of invincibility.

So much so that even the Enforcement Division didn't dare cross them. The Roths, too, preferred to steer clear of any confrontation with the Summers.

The family was led by Mrs. Summer, often referred to as the Black Widow, after the patriarch passed away years ago. She had a daughter named Summer, who managed the family's affairs.

Tara had been trying to meet with Summer to iron out a new deal, but Summer had shown zero interest. Any other family would jump at the chance to partner with the apothecary, but not the Summers. Their herbs were top-notch, making them vital to the apothecary, yet they seemed uninterested.

With the time to restock approaching and still no word from the Summer family, Tara was at a loss. She thought about asking Michael and Sam to step in and convince the Summer family to renew their deal. "Ms. Flora!"

Suddenly, Amos's voice broke the tension, full of excitement.

Tara instinctively looked up and spotted a young woman approaching.

She wore a white jacket and jeans, her long legs striking and her hair casually tousled by the wind, giving her a laid-back vibe.

Was this the special guest Amos mentioned?

The girl was undeniably beautiful, the kind you couldn't help but stare at.

Yet, Tara felt a strange sense of unease, a dislike that seemed to come from nowhere.

"Ms. Flora, please come in," Amos greeted Flora eagerly, having waited just to welcome her.

"Uncle Amos, who is this?" Tara asked, surprised at how young the guest seemed.

It dawned on Amos that Tara and

"Ms. Flora, this is Miss Tara, the only protégé of our guild leader!"

Hearing the name Flora, Tara's face froze.

This was Flora?!

It was her first time seeing Flora in person. Until now, she'd only heard about her from others.

Suddenly, Tara felt a strong wave of aversion.

She felt a natural disliking towards Flora.

"Hello, Ms. Flora," Tara said, extending her hand with a forced smile.

Flora squinted at Tara, picking up on the vibe.

Well, it seemed mutual. Flora wasn't particularly fond of Tara either.

With a smirk, Flora extended her hand in return.

"Ms. Flora, please come in," Amos said, ushering Flora inside after the introductions.

Tara instinctively blocked their way, "Uncle Amos, we're holding an assessment today, and outsiders aren't allowed in. Ms. Flora isn't part of the apothecary, so she shouldn't be allowed in, right?"

Amos nodded, "That's the rule, but Ms. Flora isn't an outsider."

Not an outsider?

Could it be...

Tara's heart skipped a beat, "Has the master already accepted Flora as an apprentice?"
