Goddess’s Design Chapter 115

Chapter 115

That night, I returned drunk to the pack but no alcohol could help me to forget about what happened. However, just as I entered my house, Alpha Louis was there sitting in the living room.

“Oran…” he frowned at my state, though we soon found ourselves sitting in the living room.

I looked at the letter from our friend’s pack that he had brought to me. “The Alpha’s daughter has been kidnapped by a group of deadly rogues. No wolf that’s been sent after them has returned alive. Reuben is not in the pack so I’ve brought this matter to you. We will need a group of skilled warriors to deal with the rogues” he explained.

“Alright, I will see what can be done,” I put the letter on the table.

“Oran, what’s the matter, boy? You don’t look good,” he asked worriedly.

I fiddled with my fingers in silence for a while before I spoke, “From the beginning, I knew that he had drawn the line but I could not give up. I crossed that line with him again and again. At this point, I feel as if I have been pushing him into this relationship. He seems forced. That’s why he is ashamed of our mate bond. He never says that he loves me too. I feel as if he is not mine even though I finally have him.”

The Alpha silently listened to me the whole time. The room fell silent as a tear rolled down my cheek.

“My grandma rejected my grandfather a year after the start of their relationship,” the Alpha stated, smoking a cigarette. “Do you know why? She was in love with another man. She did not care whether or not my grandfather was her soulmate. She had to marry him because of the pressure her father had put on her but she provided my grandfather with a son then left with her true love,” he tilted his head a little and looked at me, “Do you understand what I am trying to say?”

“Life is not always about love or mate bond,” he looked deeper into my eyes, “Life is about priorities. My grandma could never love my grandfather. She married him and provided him with an heir because it was the only way to gain her freedom. She did all of that just so that she could be with the man that was her top priority. Nothing can be forced above someone’s priority. At this point, you and Bix are at the same stage. You choose what is your priority. Love, matebond, or your own will of desiring something.”

He put a hand on my shoulder, “if you feel like you are forcing him then stop. Because if you continue then it will

just make you worse. If you feel like you are not sure whether or not he loves you then go and ask him instead of feeling rejected. If you feel his priorities are different from yours then learn to accept it. Learn to respect him. If you feel that his happiness is somewhere else then accept that bitter truth too.”

He got up from his chair but stopped before exiting, “Be brave for worse too.”

After he left, I sat there for hours, thinking about what the Alpha said. I had always wanted Bix to be happy but I connected that happiness with me only. He had his own life and his own choice that was burdened by our mate bond. All this time I had only thought about myself and did not give a thought about how he felt. If I was cool to be with a man, I was being selfish by what I was doing to Bix.

I never expected that I forced love from Bix. But it turned out I was the one who was responsible for disturbing his normal life.

That night, I drove to Opal Moon Pack to speak with Bix. Detecting his scent, I reached the first floor but once I noticed someone else’s scent with him in the room, I stopped by the window and found him with Lauren. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

I froze in place when I saw them holding hands. My heart tightened. So this was Bix’s priority and choice? A bitter smile took over my lips. I took steps back and walked away without being noticed.

“Beta Oran!” A passerby bowed his head to me but I did not stop. However his voice reached Bix’s ears right away.

“Oran?” he stormed out of the room. “Where is Oran?” he asked the man.

“Was he not here to see you? I thought I saw him coming from the direction of your room.”

“F*uck!” Bix was crushed as both he and Lauran rushed out of the room.

“Did he see us holding hands?” she gasped.

“Oran!!” Bix raced all the way from the packhouse to the parking lot where I was about to get into my car. “Oran!” He grabbed my arm and turned me around to face him. “Why the fu*ck did you not stop when I was calling you?” he yelled.

I stared at him, “Bix, let’s reject each other.”

“What?” his eyes widened and face turned white. “Why are you suddenly…”

“I’ve finally realized it now. You were right when you said that it is impossible for two men to be together. We can only be friends that’s all. Our mate bond turned out to be a defective design of the Goddess. She made a mistake, now it is time to fix it,” I smiled, looking at him one last time, “Reject me.”

“How dare you!” He grabbed me by the collar. “How casually you ask for rejection after, Oran! You don’t have idea how hard it was for me to not fall for you. That thirteen year old me, following after you like a lost puppy

admiring you from afar in the hope that you would be close to me always. Only to one day be crushed by a harsh reality when I was told by my mother that we couldn’t be together because we were both boys! You don’t have an idea how many times I searched down to the very marrow of my bones for even a spark of desire for a woman. You don’t have any idea how many times I forced myself to have sex with a woman only to epicly fail when my mind was only with thoughts of you. Your mere touch would make me come alive. You don’t know shit! And now you…”

His red angry eyes had grown watery then he just slammed his lips on me without caring about the fact the passing pack members were watching us. My eyes widened. What… Had he just said? He fell for me when he was thirteen? Before me?–

He broke the ki*s aggressively, “Go ahead. Reject me or live happily! I DON’T F**KING CARE!” he growled and started walking away towards the woods that were going to lead him out of Opal Moon.

I stood there in stunned confusion.

“Goddess, you broke your man’s heart,” Lauren murmured. “After abandoning everything, he ended up being rejected. I thought you were into him,” she commented.

“What the fuc8k do you mean?!” I growled at her hatefully

“He is selling me this pack so that he can be with you,” she lazily replied.

“What?!”

I stared at her as if she was insane.

“Yeah, he has been talking to me for over a month about this matter. I always thought him crazy for selling such a good territory that he had re–built with hard work but he said that there was someone else that was more precious to him than this territory. After handing this place over into safe hands, he only wanted to return to his soulmate and live a happy life. He did not want me to judge you, seeing as I don’t appreciate individuals that are attracted to the same sex so he introduced you as his friend, but it turned out…”

She paused dramatically.

My mouth was slightly gaped hearing this. Bix… he had been working hard for me? He had chosen me over everything else? Was I his priority? My body felt as if I was thrown into the cold water.

After a couple of seconds of shock, I immediately chased after Bix. Only minutes later, I found him.

“Bix!” I grabbed his arm.

“DON’T TOUCH ME!” he angrily shoved my hand away.

“Listen to me.”

“WHY? HAVE YOU NOT REJECTED ME?! GO AWAY. DON’T TRY TO COME BACK IN MY LIFE.”

I saw him in tears and immediately pulled him into my arms, “I am sorry“.

“LET ME GO! LET GO!!” he struggled but I stubbornly held him tightly to my chest until he stopped struggling.

“I am sorry for hurting you,” I buried my face in his neck. “I don’t want to reject you, Bix. I just thought I was holding you back. I was forcing you into our mate bond. I want you to be happy…”

“You are my happiness,” he pulled away from him a little and looked deep into my eyes. “You are my everything,” he bit my lip then pulled me into a ki*s, “I love you, Oran.”

Finally he had spoken those three words that I had been yearning to hear my whole life. I wrapped my arm around his body and k*ssed him back, “love you too.”

We ki*sed each other until we were breathless. I touched his lower lip and bit his jaw. “What do you want to do now?”

“Take me home, mate,” he whispered.

We smiled at each other. Always bossy and

arrogant,

he was my Bix. My soulmate. I held his hand and we started walking together. “Let’s go.”

The End.
