Chapter 31 The Spread of Poison
Chapter 31 The Spread of Poison
Greyson left the hospital.
His head was completely shaved in order to do surgery. The wound had healed by now, and a short
stubby layer of hair had regrown. This made his facial features stand out more and made him look even
more masculine.
Looking at his appearance, Rowan started to blush.
Greyson was… quite handsome…
“Why are you staring at me like that?” Staring back at her, he couldn’t help but laugh, “You like my
look?”
“No, no way!” Rowan said in a hurry.
“Then why are you staring and blushing like that?” Greyson said as he raised an eyebrow.
“I, I’m not talking to you anymore; see you tomorrow!” Rowan anxiously stomped, “the car is here to
pick you up.”
“Do you want me to send you back?” Greyson asked.
“No need, I’ll walk back.” Rowan slightly waved.
“Stay safe on the way back.” Greyson said.
As he watched her presence become farther and farther away, Greyson’s smile started to fade.
So tired...
Why did he feel so tired before her?
It’s as though he was constantly putting on an act.
He didn’t feel like his smile was sincere, but he still had to put on a smile; even he didn’t know what the
matter was with him.
“Master, I’m sorry, I’m late!” Greyson’s servant got out the car in a hurry.
“No matter, let’s get going.” Greyson said and got ready to get in the car. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
“Master, are… are you alright?” Greyson’s servant asked.
“I’m fine; I’m out the hospital now, am I not?” Greyson smiled.
The servant did not know that Greyson had lost his memory, so it was strange to him why Greyson was
on such good terms with Rowan.
“Master, Miss Moss…” The servant hesitated at first, but reluctantly asked.
“Miss Moss? I don’t know any Miss Moss.” Greyson looked at his servant with a puzzled look. “What’s
the matter with you today?”
Don’t know a Miss Moss? How was that possible?
Didn’t he already tell Greyson everything? What happened?
His servant suddenly felt a cold sweat all over.
Was there some kind of misinformation in his report? Or did… the Master really just give up?
“Let’s go.” Greyson said and got into the car.
The servant recollected his thoughts and got in the car.
No matter; it’s not in his place to mettle in the master’s business.
It’s a pity about Miss Moss, but he served Greyson, not Miss Moss.
…
Hattie felt weak ever since she woke up this morning.
She wanted to get up, but she realized that she couldn’t budge at all.
She started to panic; she tried hard to move her hand and reach the service button.
What was going on?
Jensen wasn’t around either…
Hattie looked on at the button right next to her, but alas, she couldn’t reach it.
She became so anxious that she was about to cry.
She began to feel more and more distraught inside.
Suddenly, she started to come to and regain consciousness! But what immediately followed was an
overwhelming sense of pain.
With a huff, Hattie curled into a ball.
Cold sweat covered all over her.
Was the poison starting to spread?
She never felt such intense pain before! Was she… really going to die this time?
Hattie gritted her teeth, and the pain forced her to shut her eyes.
During this time.
Today was the day of Greyson and Rowan’s wedding ceremony.
Finnley woke Greyson up early in the morning; a small crowd ushered Greyson along to get ready and
dressed.
“Dad, I’m a grown man… Is all this really necessary?” Greyson said in a sleepy manner.
“Your stay at the hospital these days has made you lazy! Today’s the big day of your wedding, of
course we must take these extra measures!” Finnley continued to bark orders, “You there, hurry and
tend to your tasks! Hurry and help the young master get ready!”
The small crowd tensed up and went about their tasks.
Greyson pouted and said nothing, allowing the small crowd to get him dressed and do his hair.
Finnley looked on a Greyson’s obedient behavior with satisfaction, and the wrinkles next to his eyes
became even thicker.
He had anticipated this day for too long!
Surely even god took pity on all his hard work, and helped him to get everything proceeding without a
hitch.
Why else would Greyson just so happen to lose all his memories of Hattie, and mistook Rowan for
Hattie?
A huge grin appeared on Finnley’s face, and he left to tend to other matters.
…
Over at the Porter family.
Rowan sat before her dressing table, as the stylist behind her silently tended to her hair.
She wore a pure white dress, and looked as elegant as a white swan.
Rowan’s mother came over, took a good look at her, and nodded in satisfaction, “Rowan, you’re about
to get married; I almost can’t bear it…”
“Mom, what are you saying? I’m not even married yet!” Rowan joked with a smile, “Besides, even after
I get married, I will come visit you often!”
“But it’s not the same,” Rowan’s mother shook her head and said, “No matter, daughters are bound to
get married sooner or later… Tell me the truth, do you really love that Greyson? You’re not doing this
for the family, are you?”
Rowan blinked, then her face began to slowly turn red, “I like him.”
