Chapter 1014
“Of course, not,” Mercer responded with a strained smile, his eyes still darting towards Nancy.
Before Lindsey fully understood the situation between Nancy and Mercer, she instinctively moved to shield Nancy, obstructing Mercer’s view.
“The filming is about to start, isn’t it? Shouldn’t you be getting ready? We’re quite busy with my artist right now and can’t really chat,” Lindsey added.
Mercer scrutinized Lindsey, sensing her dismissive tone.
With a barely perceptible sneer, he said, “Since you’re busy, I won’t impose.”
Then he turned and began walking away.
Just then, a voice rang out suddenly from behind.
“Mercer, stop!”
As Mercer halted, Lindsey turned around, surprised by Nancy’s commanding tone.
Nancy approached with resolve and positioned herself before Mercer.
Mercer’s expression shifted to one of amused confidence.
“It appears you have something to discuss, Miss Schultz.
Since Miss Stewart is occupied, perhaps we could find a more private place to talk?”
“Nancy!” Lindsey called out.
She noticed Mercer’s suggestive tone and, concerned for Nancy, quickly shook her head at her friend in warning.
Nancy fully understood Mercer’s implications.
She had no intention of going anywhere with him.
She lifted her head and asked confidently, “No need for that.
I just want to know, what’s your relationship with that Domenic man? Why is he here?”

Domenic, the CEO of the Vitality Group, hadn’t arrived in his official capacity.
Instead, he came in Mercer’s car.
Nancy wondered what his true intentions were-was he here for Lindsey?
This thought prompted Nancy to voice her question.
Lindsey was taken aback.
She hadn’t realized the inquiry would touch on this subject.
At that moment, Sumner was seated before a mirror.
His expression turned grim as he cast a watchful look toward Nancy and Mercer.
Mercer thought Nancy had stopped him for a personal reason, but her question about Domenic caught him off guard and made him sort of jealousy.
Standing with his arms crossed, Mercer’s height gave him a towering presence over Nancy.
He looked down at her with a defiant expression.
“Do you really want to know? Fine.
If you beg, maybe I’ll tell you.”
“Mercer, you jerk!” Nancy almost threw a punch in her frustration, but the presence of Lindsey and Sumner made her restrain herself.
Instead, she glared at Mercer with fiery eyes.
Mercer found a twisted satisfaction in seeing her subdued.
Alone, he might have taken the confrontation further, teaching her a “harsher lesson”.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
“Nancy, you should stop asking about it.
It’s his private affair,”
Lindsey said as she saw Nancy and Mercer at an impasse and intervened by pulling Nancy aside.
Mercer observed Lindsey, noting her indifference, which puzzled him.
