Chapter 15~ Stalking
Chapter 15- Stalking
"Mr Kingsley, it's rude to come into my office without knocking," Lora said in a clipped tone.
"Lora Davis," Ryan emphasised Lora's full name, "I have something to confirm with you."
"What's the matter? If it's work-related, I'm already working on my first design and I'll let you know when I am done," Lora answered. "Lora. No, Larisa to be exact. I want to talk about your identity," Ryan said, looking intently into Lora's eyes.
Hearing Larisa's name again, Lora couldn't help but roll her eyes. She didn't understand why Ryan was so obsessed with her identity. "Mr. Kingsley, I've explained it many times. If you have mental problems, please go to the hospital for treatment, I am not a doctor. "
Ryan seemed to expect Lora's response. He looked at Lora with a smile, slowly took out his phone, and showed her the picture on his phone. Lora glanced at the picture on Ryan's phone but her face did nothing to betray her emotions.
"Mr Kingsley, I don't know who this Larisa you keep talking about is but why do you have a picture of me and my friend?" She remarked. Ryan furrowed his eyebrows. Lora was too calm. Could it be that he had overreacted?
"How did you become friends?" Ryan asked suspiciously.
"It's none of your business, Mr Kingsley, but, I met Bianca three years ago. She also mistook me for someone else and kept following me around. We became friends since then," Lora explained calmly. "Are you sure?" Ryan asked, his heart sinking as the hope that had ignited within him died out.
"Why are you so interested in my personal life, Mr Kingsley? I don't think it's appropriate," Lora stated. Ryan took a step back, his heart clenching in pain. He glanced at Lora and answered, "You look like Larisa. If I didn't know she was an orphan, I would think you were identical twins."
"Mmmmm, and this Larisa, who was she to you? You're so obsessed with her," Lora asked.
However, Ryan didn't answer that question. He put his phone away and asked instead, "How far with your work?"
To Lora, Ryan's response showed her that he was still hellbent on keeping his marriage a secret. His wife was dead and he still couldn't talk about her openly.
He really was ruthless.
She sneered internally and glanced at Ryan coldly before replying, "I'm working on it."
"Mr Kingsley, how long do you intend to stay in my office?" Lora added in annoyance.
"Well, you have a contract with me and before it ends, expect you to follow the terms in the contract," Ryan remarked.
"Ok. Now, please excuse me, Mr Kingsley, I don't want your fiancee to get the wrong idea," Lora said firmly.
Ryan had no other excuse to stay in Lora's office, so he left. His phone rang the moment he walked out.
"Hello, Adan," he answered.
"Ryan, is she Larisa, have you confirmed her identity?" Adan asked on the phone.
"Adan, she's not Larisa. Even though they look alike, she is the daughter of Jack Davis of Davis & Co," Ryan explained.
"Oh, but how did she know and be friends with Bianca? Is it all too coincidental?"
"I guess it's just a coincidence. They met and became friends... everything is just so confusing. She looks and feels like Larisa but she doesn't seem to know me," Ryan replied bitterly. "Someone sounds disappointed," Adan said. "I'll help you investigate to know for sure. I have a few guys who are good at finding out things."
"Ok, then I'll have to rely on you for information," Ryan responded and cut the call.
Despite various facts proving that Lora is Jack Davis's daughter, Ryan was still skeptical. 'Maybe if Adan finishes investigating, I'll be able to let her go, Ryan thought. "Ryan..."
Ryan paused when he heard Ivy's voice. He frowned but he turned to look at her.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Ivy, why aren't you in your office?"
Ivy smiled. She answered, "Someone told me you were here to see me."
"How do you feel, and are you still adjusting to your new job?" Ryan asked.
Ivy didn't miss the flash of guilt in Ryan's eyes, it was clear that he hadn't come to visit her. He must've come for Lora. There was wave of hatred in Ivy's heart, but she didn't show it at all on the surface.
"I'm fine, Ryan. I love this job. It's perfectly in line with my major. I'm working on the first design, you will see it soon," Ivy replied.
"Great, don't put too much pressure on yourself," Ryan said.
"Let's have lunch together, Ryan," Ivy invited him.
"I have something planned for lunch with someone, I mean with a partner," Ryan responded.
For some reason, Ryan didn't want Ivy to know about his plan. He had a gut feeling that Ivy wouldn't be happy if she knew that Grandpa was going to invite Lora to lunch.
"What about in the afternoon? I plan to go to the doctor in the afternoon. Can you come and pick me up for the doctor's appointment?" Ivy could tell that Ryan was hiding something from her, so she continued to ask. "Okay, I'll take you to the hospital to see a doctor in the afternoon." As soon as Ivy mentioned her legs, Ryan relented. He didn't want to disappoint Ivy.
"Okay, I'll see you in the afternoon, Ryan." Ivy knew Ryan's weakness and after receiving a satisfactory answer, she left with a smile.
Ryan sighed as Ivy disappeared from his sight. Thinking of his grandfather's request, Ryan walked towards Lora's office again.
Lora opened the door to her office but before she could walk out, Ryan suddenly appeared and walked in.
Lora frowned and questioned, "Why are you back? Mr Kingsley, this is stalking."
Ryan arched an eyebrow and began to approach Lora. With each step that he took forward, she stepped back. "What are you doing?" Lora asked, her eyes widening.
"Showing you what stalking is," Ryan replied with a side smirk as he got closer.
Hearing Ryan's words, Lora's eyes turned cold as she looked at Ryan and said, "Mr Kingsley, is this a fetish of yours?"
Ryan was taken aback by Lora's sudden coldness. He was about to reply when Lora's voice stopped him. "You have a fiancee and yet, here you are, flirting with me. Have you always been such a scumbag?"
