His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 598

The bag was something Casper had personally picked out. Summer handled picking it up for him. He figured Eliza would appreciate it. Casper was in high spirits. After wrapping up at the office, he swung by the florist and ordered a stunning bouquet of roses. He even

jotted down a note. Just a few heartfelt words, "Wishing my Elle happiness every day. -T."

He felt pretty pleased with himself. A satisfied grin played on his lips as he carefully arranged the bouquet alongside the beautifully wrapped box. Once home, he planned to come up with a clever excuse to get Eliza to open this surprise he had lovingly prepared for her. As he drove into Welton Estate, the car moved smoothly. After parking, he hummed a little tune, his steps quickening as he headed inside. Eliza was in the living room, playing with their little one, who lit up with a big, bright smile the moment Casper walked in, arms outstretched, eager for a hug from dad.

Casper rushed over, too excited to even take off his coat, and scooped the little one up into his arms. The kid was over the moon, kicking his legs with joy, his laughter ringing throughout the room.

"This kid, a real little tiger, have you been secretly missing me?" Casper teased with a warm, doting smile.

Eliza's lips curved into a soft smile as she rubbed her sore arm. "This little guy is getting heavier by the day; I'm practically becoming his personal pillow," she said, a mix of sweet affection and tiredness in her voice.

"Don't spoil him too much. We've got plenty of help around here; let them take over more so you can catch a break," Casper said, his face full of genuine concern.

A warmth spread through Eliza's heart, and a gentle smile lingered on her face. She was about to take a seat and rest when Casper handed her the car keys. "I left my jacket in the car, on the back seat. Could you grab it for me?" "Oh, sure," she replied.

Eliza slipped on her shoes and headed out. When she opened the rear car door, she didn't see any jacket, but there was a purple-wrapped box and a bouquet of vibrant red roses waiting for her.

Eliza was taken aback. The Casper she knew never really went for these romantic gestures. Lately, though, he was on a roll. Just the other day he got her a Patek Philippe watch and yesterday, a designer diamond bracelet. And now, another gift? He definitely wasn't holding back on spending for her. But this daily gifting thing was starting to feel a bit over the top.

She thought it was somewhat extravagant. As she picked up the card nestled in the flowers, she smiled at his flamboyant handwriting, shaking her head. The size of the box suggested t was a handbag. And sure enough, upon opening it, there it was. The style and color were spot on with her taste.

Just as she was about to pick up the bag for a closer look, she noticed a long strand of hair on it. Dark purple, almost like black, but clearly purple under the light. It definitely wasn't hers. Normally, a luxury store wouldn't make a mistake like this. Whose hair could it be? Dark purple hair... It clicked. Casper's new secretary had that exact hair color. She'd seen the secretary once and thought that kind of hair seemed a bit unprofessional for the role. Casper hadn't mentioned anything, and neither did she.

Had Summer opened it and

accidentally left a strand behind? Or

was it on purpose? Eliza admitted she might be overthinking, but she couldn't help it. That young secretary's gaze at Casper was anything but innocent. As a woman, Eliza could easily spot such "innocent" desires. The yearning for money, power, and status Summer hadn't exactly been discreet about them. Since Dillon left Falconridge for Beaconhouse, Eliza occasionally caught a subtle whiff of perfume on Casper, perhaps from Summer. Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
