Chapter 73
Angel
Leffman
I have Sofia back in my life, and this time, I knew I had to do things right. Especially now that she just gave me the best gift of becoming a father. I still can't believe it. When I saw her crying, I imagined the worst, but she was as happy as I am about the pregnancy and that I am the father.
"Angel," the man I was waiting for, greeted me when he arrived.
I stood up and shook his hand. "Isaac, I'm glad to see you." I gestured for him to sit, and I did the same.
"Likewise, by the way, congratulations; Sofia told me about the baby. I'm surprised that you called me here."
We are at the end of my apartment residences, where the house complexes begin. There are only three houses so far, and they are all new. I heard they finished building them this week.
"It's because I need your service. Do you see that house over there?" I pointed to the one in front of us.
"Of course, it's right in front of me, and only a blind person would not see such beauty," Isaac replied with a chuckle.
I decided to not beat around the bush anymore. "They are new, and they were inaugurated this week. I made an offer, and they accepted it, so I want your security system on it." "Wow, Angel, the house is beautiful; it has a unique yet familiar look to it," he said in amazement, and I stood up.
"Let's come over so you can see it better." I invited him and walked ahead.
"It has a green entrance with a fountain surrounding it. It is a two-story house with a terrace in front. It has six spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and closet upstairs. In addition, there is a living room in the middle, three bathrooms, two halls, a dining room, a modern kitchen, two offices, and a garage for three cars." I explained in detail as we toured around it.
"I'm going to have the garage expanded. At the back, there is a kind of small forest, a park, a spa to relax, and a party room. It also has a swimming pool and heating. The house is painted white, gray, black, and turquoise, as you can see."Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
"Angel, this house is magnificent, and I can only guess that Sofia doesn't know about this."
"No, I bought it a few days ago. I already hired some men to fix some things. The house is ready, but I have to do other things, and now I have to prepare it for a baby."
Isaac nodded his head as his eyes roamed around. "I see. I think he's going to like it a lot."
"I hope so, but I want the most important thing, which is security. In the residential complex, we have the system that you implemented, and I like it, so I want the same for this house. That's why I called you so that you can install the entire corresponding system. I want the most sophisticated and the one with the greatest security. Can you do it, or is Sofia the one in charge of doing that?"
"We can both do it, but we have a problem because she is the one who-" he stopped talking and pursed his lips as he looked at me in surprise.
"She's the one...?" I pressed, urging him to continue.
Come on, I have already discovered you.
"Uhm, the owner of the house, right? Therefore, it would be good for you to consult with her first." Isaac finished and cleared his throat.
I resisted the urge to snort and acted naturally. "Of course, but it's a surprise and she can't find out. Plus, she'll like that the security comes from Let-technology. After all, the safety of car designs is under that company. So I don't think there's a problem with this house having it." ""No, of course not, but..."
I cut him off with a laugh and shook my head. Oh, this woman of mine.
"What do you need to install the security system, Issac?"
Isaac looked tensed now, but he remained casual. "Nothing; you just have to go to the company and schedule everything. From there, once it is programmed, it will be installed in the house."
"It must be ready before next week, which is my anniversary, so tell me, when can I go? Also, I want that security system for something else, but that one is not ready yet. And don't worry about the money; I have plenty of that."
"It's not the money, Angel; it's obviously not a problem for you."
"You know that Sofia can't know because it's a surprise. So, I expect that with the intelligence you have, you can invent something so you can install the entire system without her finding out, at least for now."
He did not respond right away, looking unsure of what to say next, perhaps. After a while, he just sighed in surrender.
"Alright, I'll make something up."
"Isaac, I'm serious; Sofia must not know. It's my anniversary gift, and I don't want anything to ruin it."
"I understand, Angel. You can trust me."
"Well, since you've seen the house, let's go to the other place I mentioned, where you will also install your security system."
We left the complex, and I showed him Sofia's other gift. After that, I went to my company and found Harry running everywhere. "Harry, what's happening?"
"Nothing, just solving some cases; it has nothing to do with the company, but among them is Elisa; the family wants to sue you for divulging personal secrets and robbing a private clinic."
I snorted and shrugged nonchalantly. "First, they have no basis because I gave the information to them, and they have everything, while I have absolutely nothing. Second, they have no way to prove anything, and third, I will sue them for saying that the baby is mine when it is not and there is proof of it, so don't worry. What do they want? That family is not one to make scandals, so there must be a reason. Do they want to take Elisa out of the country?"
Harry scratched his nape. "She is in jail, so that would be difficult, and I don't know the judge. Angel, appeasing the news would help your case."
"I can't do anything, Harry, and besides, I was not the one who disclosed the information. Let's not talk about it, okay? I'm too happy for you to ruin my day."
Harry clapped my back. "I'm glad you're happy; it means that things with Sofia are going great."
"It is; it's so great that you are going to be a godfather in a few months, seven to be exact."
"Godfather? No freaking way, man! Sofia is pregnant?" Harry asked, surprise written all over his face.
"Yes, sir! I'm going to be a father!" I told him in excitement, and he hugged me like he hadn't done in a long time.
"Congratulations, you little shit! It's about time things settled between you two. You came a long way, including the baby." He greeted me, looking genuinely happy.
"It turns out that the reason for my discomfort is because Sofia began to eat a lot, and the hormones have her between being moody and having a fairly high s****I appetite, so she did not complain to me, even though I had to endure nausea and dizziness. You don't know how unpleasant it is, man." Just remembering it makes me so dizzy.
"That is to say that my nephew or niece is already starting to mess with you two while they're in their mother's womb," Harry noted while laughing.
"I hope that, like the mother, she can manage five companies; although she is not going to be the only child, I hope that the others don't make me as nauseous and dizzy as this one."
"Wow, so you're a forgiven man; that's why you bought the house."
"I bought the house even before I found out that Sofia was pregnant. I wanted to fix it for when she decided to forgive me, but my little peanut escalated the plans."
"So you will be living together again in that ugly house?" he asked, and I groaned.
"Why doesn't anyone like that house?"
"Angel, it looks like something straight out of a horror movie, even though Sofia renovated it and gave it warmth and shine. It still looks depressing," he commented, and we both laughed.
"You're right, but I bought it for that purpose. Things have changed, and no, Sofia hates that house; she is not going to accept us being there, so I will propose that she move into my apartment while they are fixing the house for our anniversary." "Have you already spoken to Isaac about the security, or did he also make excuses?"
"Yes, I already spoke to him, and he is going to install the security systems. I also verified the reason why he did not want to accept our deal."
"Please enlighten me, because it is a big business. I couldn't understand why he wouldn't accept it."
"Let's just say he has his reasons. By the way, I need you to resolve the business in London and Spain, because with Sofia in her state, I don't have any plans to travel."
Harry looked unsure. "Are you sure? You have always wanted to close the deals in the final stage."
"Priorities, and now that I have Sofia, I don't want to risk it. You already reserved what I asked for, right?"
"Yes, I already did it, and I also called your father-in-law and your grandfather."
"Perfect. Thank you." I gripped his shoulder in appreciation.
After a long day, I came home and found Sofia asleep. I stared at her and realized that I was the luckiest man in the world to have her back and that she had forgiven me. I want to open my heart to her and make her happy. I hope she will like my surprise.
I decided to make her dinner, but this time, something lighter. I overdid it this morning. She surprises me when she discusses her work, and with the hormones she has, I prefer not to continue on that side. I told her my feelings since I saw her, and she said something that is sadly true. If it weren't for that lie, maybe we wouldn't be together, but that still won't justify what they did.
"What are you thinking? Don't you like the movie?" She asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"The movie is good, a little cheesy, but beautiful. I was just wondering, when did you fall in love with me? Because I know I was the biggest idiot during these five years."
"That's easy, since the first time I saw you. We bumped into each other in the hallway at the university; you were rushing to a game and you saw me," she answered, and I frowned because I don't remember that. "You were so distracted that you didn't even offer an apology when you knocked me to the floor. Amelia yelled at you and called your names."
"I remember, but I bumped into Amelia, not you."
"No, you just didn't see me because I fell to the floor, but as soon as you saw me, you responded to Amelia, but you didn't turn around."
"Why didn't you curse me out?"
"Because it was my fault. I was so stunned when I saw you that I thought that you were the most handsome man I have ever seen, and I had to meet you, but you didn't see me, so I was angry at that." Sofia ranted with a pout, and I chuckled.
"If I had seen you, believe me, he wouldn't forget it."
"Then I went to watch the game. I remember hoping that you were more than just a pretty body. The next day, you were in my classroom, and you intervened after me with a question that the teacher said, and at that moment, I declared to myself that I'm going to make you mine." "I do remember that; you excelled so much that I couldn't be left behind, so I stood out so you could see that I was not far behind you."
"Intelligent and sexy. A man who should be owned by Andrew, and look, you are only mine."
"And you are only mine," I replied sweetly, and we were interrupted by a call from Harry. "How strange," I reply. "I just left you alone, and you are the one who doesn't let me be."
"I know, but we have a problem, and you're not going to like it."
I straightened and left Sofia in the living room and on the balcony.
"What's going on?" I asked, and he sighed.
"You have to travel, and before you say anything, I know what you said, but those from Argentina refuse to sign if you are not there, and that meeting was already scheduled." "Harry, I have to organize everything for the anniversary, and you're asking me to travel?" I asked in a low but annoyed tone.
"I know, but it's not my fault, man. I tried to persuade them, but they refused; they want you to go, and the same thing happened in London."
I cursed and shut my eyes tight. I can already feel a headache coming.
"Hell, I don't want to travel now and leave Sofia in her state, especially with the anniversary coming up. I want to finish what I have planned, and traveling is going to take me a week."
"I know, Angel; trust me, if I could help, I would, but you know them. The only thing I can help you with is that I will take care of everything in your absence so that it is ready for when you arrive and I have to ask someone for help." "Who?"
"Who do you think is an expert in organizing events in less than a week and knows Sofia better than anyone?"
He did not have to repeat, and I didn't have to guess before a name popped into my head. "Amelia... but Sofia can't know anything."
"Calm down, brother; leave that in our hands. Go resolve your business so that you can return right away, and when you return, dedicate yourself to finalizing details."
I blew out a breath and ran my fingers through my thick hair. "I have no choice but to trust you and Amelia, but you have to make sure everything is perfect." "That's how it's going to be, so calm down."
I hang up in defeat. I don't like changing my plans so abruptly. It messes with my head.
"Everything alright? I heard my beloved ask from the door.
"No, it's just that... some business abroad got complicated, and I would need to travel," I hesitantly told her, afraid of what she'd say or feel.
"Travel?" she repeated, clearly not a fan of the idea very much.
"Yes, I don't want to travel and leave you as well, but it is necessary; otherwise, everything I did in London and Argentina will be wasted."
"London and Argentina-that means you will be gone for a while." Sadness and disappointment loomed over her face. "Can no one come on behalf of you instead?"
"I tried, but I don't know if it's possible. I promise that for our anniversary, I will be here," I promised, and she made a face. "Hey, no, don't you believe me? I will do whatever it takes to be here in less than a week." "Angel, the last time you traveled, you returned with a divorce petition and your ex in your arms, so can you blame me?"
I sighed and hugged her close to me. "This time, it won't be the same because I don't plan on divorcing you ever, and I don't have any exes that will bother me. I only have a beautiful wife and child waiting for me at home." ""Do you promise to come back in a week?"
"Hopefully earlier, because I don't want to leave you alone."
"I have no choice but to let you go, but it's seven days; how am I supposed to control my hormones?" She complained with a pout, and I smirked.
"Well, let me give you a good dose and see if you resist."
I picked her up and took her to the room, where I made love to her throughout the night.
