Chapter 3330 Sabotage of the Renovation
The witch doctor's body appeared more hunched than before as he turned, tiredly walking back into the healing shop. The two wooden doors slowly closed, obscuring the weary figure of the middle-aged witch doctor.
"Look at how exhausted the witch doctor is, treating us every day, and now someone wants to step on his reputation to make a name for themselves. Three days from now, let's all go watch. When that guy shows up-we can't throw rocks, but who's going to stop us from tossing rotten eggs?"
"Exactly! I'm going home to get some rotten eggs ready right now!"
If Matthew were still there, he'd likely just shake his head in exasperation. The last thing he needed would be to step on the witch doctor's reputation to rise. There were countless people in Cathay who would line up and beg for Matthew to treat them.
Inside the healing shop, the once-hunched figure of the middle-aged witch doctor straightened, his previously sorrowful expression now twisted into one of mockery. So what if you're a high-ranking officer in the Martial League, kid? As long as I have those mindless pigs outside under my manipulation, you cannot chase me and my people out of Dewsbury!
...
As Matthew walked out of the alley, he suddenly stopped and pointed behind him at a Martial League member perched in a tree. The man immediately understood, jumping down and pulling out his firearm.
"Just detain them for a few days to let them cool off," Matthew instructed softly, pushing the man's gun back into its holster. He didn't want him to open fire on the group of fools causing trouble behind them that would only make matters worse and impossible to contain. The gossip in Dewsbury was notorious for spreading like wildfire.
The Martial League member solemnly nodded, looking at Matthew with admiration. "Don't worry, Mr. Summit Warden, I'll handle it."
Matthew patted the man's shoulder, giving him a smile of approval. It was a gesture he had picked up from Blake Carr, who often patted the Martial League members on the shoulder, asking how their work was going.
The Martial League member's face flushed with excitement, his mind racing with thoughts like, Wow, Mr. Summit Warden is so down-to-earth! He even patted my shoulder! Why does his smile feel so warm? Could it be... But Matthew, walking away, was oblivious to the young man's internal monologue.
Just then, his phone rang. Errol's voice came through on the other end. "Sir, there's been an incident."
Matthew's previously warm demeanor quickly turned serious. "What happened? I'll be there immediately."

Errol's face. "The renovation of the martial arts academy has been sabotaged, hasn't it?" he asked directly. Only an issue as critical as this would anger Errol enough to call him.
Errol nodded, giving a report. "One of the workers Kassigned to the project was attacked while picking up supplies alone. The power lines and water pipes connected to Sunny Haven have also been cut. And worst of all, some of our building materials have been swapped out for substandard ones."
Matthew's brow furrowed, his face growing stern as he processed the information. After a few moments silence, he spoke firmly, "Deploy Martial League members to

At that, his voice grew colder. "Once I finish my current business, I'll deal with them one by one." These b*stards actually think I'm a pushover!
