Chapter 482
Everett clutched his phone, his grip tight as he forced himself to scroll through every single message they'd exchanged. His forehead was pulsing with tension, each breath growing heavier than the last.
Beyond the shocking photos and taunting words, there were her relentless jabs and mockery aimed at Selena. Not to mention the subtle hints that Margot was the woman he truly loved. She even suggested that Selena, his rightful wife, should gracefully bow out, claiming he'd already bought a ring to propose to her.
In his saved messages, Everett stumbled upon two voice recordings from Selena. The first captured her interview with Margot, where Margot spun outrageous lies right to her face. That was the turning point, when Selena resolutely contemplated divorce. The second recording was a café chat, where Margot revealed a certain medication was harmful to children, pinning the blame on Everett. This led Selena to think he wanted to harm their child, paving the way for Margot to step in.
Because of all this, Margot lost her child, and in his misguided attempt to ease her pain, Everett had abandoned Selena... No wonder Selena wouldn't believe him, despite his insistence that there was nothing between him and Margot, that she was the only woman for him. Margot had been pulling strings behind the scenes all along.
How could she have the nerve?
Half an hour later, the grand doors of the villa swung open. Margot looked up to see Everett striding through the rain, his tall, striking figure cutting through the storm like a leading man straight out of a Western drama, complete with an imaginary soundtrack, seemingly there to save her.
Her heart leapt with joy. She knew Everett couldn't possibly leave her high and dry. She was his responsibility for life.
Margot wobbled towards him, sweetly calling his name. "Everett... ah..."
In the blink of an eye, his large hand clamped around her throat, lifting her off the ground. Thunder crashed, lighting up his face. That's when Margot realized this wasn't a prince coming to her rescue, but a demon straight out of hell.
A suffocating panic set in, and she struggled with all her might. "Everett... what's happened to you?"novelbin
“I've warned you over and over not to
cross the line, yet you kept provoking Selena, attacking her, hurting her!" Everett's words were
icy, more chilling than the rain on a cold night.

Margot's face went pale as she tried to plead, "Everett, you must be mistaken, I didn't... I didn't..."
His fingers tightened, her cheeks flushed red, unable to utter another word. Moments later, she crumpled to the ground, her face a ghastly shade of blue and purple, coughing and gasping for air. So close, she was so close to being choked to death...
But fear and discomfort took a backseat. She reached for Everett, trying to play the same old
game-aeting weak and coy, or
perhaps bringing up William net

afford to lose him!
Yet, before she could touch him, Everett stepped back, looking at her as if she were something disgusting, not sparing her another glance as he turned to leave.
The grand door closed slowly in front of Margot once more. She clawed at the ground, desperate to follow him, but the door was an unyielding barrier.
"Everett, Everett..."
"I was wrong, for William's sake, give me another chance..."
The thunder drowned out her cries. No matter how hoarse her voice became, it was all for nothing.
By morning, all of Margot's scandals had vanished into thin air.
