Chapter 16
Chapter 16
"Mommy and I are the only ones in my family. My mommy said that she doesn't know who my daddy is. A lady said that I am very similar to you, so I'm wondering if you might be my daddy?" The little guy looked at him innocently and asked.
In this world, the purest thing was the innocent eyes of a child.
Under the gaze of these eyes, Augustine's inner defense was cracking inch by inch. He had this inexplicably strong conviction that it would be amazing if this child was his child.
Zephaniah bit his lower lip in disappointment. Obviously, he had failed in his mission.
However, he was unwilling to give up. He pulled out some hair with his small hand and put the strands of hair on the resume. "Uncle, this is my hair. My DNA is in it. If you have the time, can you test it? Maybe we are father and son! I have to go back now.
Otherwise, my mommy will be worried if she can't find me."
"Where is your home? I'll ask someone to send you back," Augustine said kindly.
"Just over there. The building opposite is my mommy's workplace. It's very close, so there's no need for someone to send me," Zephaniah said. Then, he looked at the resume and continued to say, "Uncle, you have to think about it. My mommy is really beautiful and capable! If you don't marry her, you'll regret it."
After that, he ran to the door, before Augustine could react. He stood on tiptoes to open the door and left the room.
Augustine's long eyebrows were tightly knitted together. Looking at the few short dark strands of hair on the white A4 paper, he fell into deep contemplation.
He never wasted any time doing meaningless things. For example, he could almost be sure that he had nothing to do with this child.
Therefore, looking at these strands of hair, he wondered if he should just throw all of this along with the resume into the trash can, or waste some time sending them for a DNA analysis.
At this moment, Assistant Yallop knocked on the door, and she entered the room with a few documents in her hand.
"Mr. Giltstone, these are some urgent documents. Please sign them." After she spoke, Assistant Yallop was very self-aware of the situation and turned to leave.
"Wait a minute." Behind her, a deep and magnetic voice stopped her from departing.
Assistant Yallop immediately turned around and looked at him. "Mr. Giltstone, do you have any other instructions?"
Augustine pulled out four or five strands of hair from his sideburns. He took a tissue on the table, wrapped his hair and Zephaniah's hair separately, and handed them to her. "Take them to the hospital for a DNA analysis, and give me a detailed report."
Assistant Yallop was shocked as she took the items over, but she still nodded and said, "Okay, I'll go right now." Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Zephaniah returned to his mommy's company as fast as he could. When he opened the door, he heard someone whispering.
"Designer Carlewood's child has gone missing. Did you see him? She was looking for him anxiously just now!"
"I didn't! Where would a child go? It would be very dangerous for him to go anywhere else!"
Hearing this, Zephaniah immediately ran to the two female employees. "Is my mommy looking for me?"
"Oh, my god! Little guy, you're here! Hurry up and find your mommy. She is panicking." The woman immediately led the boy to Vivianna's office.
Vivianna was so anxious that she was about to call the police when she heard a child's voice calling her cheerfully, "Mommy, I'm here, I'm here."
Vivianna looked back at him, and her pale face immediately became stern. "Zeph, where have you been? Didn't I tell you not to run around? Are you going to scare mommy to death?" She was on the brink of tears.
"Mommy, I'm sorry! I won't dare walk away on my own again." The little guy was sincerely apologetic, and tears flowed out from his eyes.
