My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter 1352

Calvin looked down at his phone, his face drained of all color. He wondered where Joe was and why he hadn't shown up yet.

A few doctors and nurses nearby continued to urge Rosa to come down.

"Ms. Reese, please, just come down. There's no issue that can't be resolved. Let's take this out calmly."

"Yes, exactly. It's not uncommon for patients to experience mood swings after surgery. But physically, you're recovering well. Ms. Reese, if you're worried about a scar from the surgery, there's treatment to minimize that. When you're discharged, someone will guide you on how to reduce scars. It could even be made nearly invisible."

The nurse assumed that Rosa's despair stemmed from her worry about her appearance and fear of having scars, which was why she was contemplating suicide, so she quickly tried to console her.

These days, so many women set impossibly high standards for themselves, often struggling with any perceived imperfection. Of course, many people also struggled with mental health issues.

However, Calvin knew better. Hearing the doctors' and nurses' words, he broke into a nervous sweat. If this were only about appearance, then the issue would be easy to resolve.

With so many cosmetic clinics these days, each better than the last, anyone could look exactly how they wanted.

"Ms. Reese, Mr. Sowle is already downstairs. He was just picking up the engagement ring. He said once you're fully recovered, he'll marry you," Calvin said hurriedly after seeing Joe's message.

If Rosa jumped from this ledge, his high-salary position and career would be over. He had only looked away for a second when Rosa bolted from the ward straight to the rooftop.

Now, there was a crowd gathering below the hospital.

He couldn't even imagine what the media would report now or what headlines would follow. Just the thought of the impending PR nightmare ahead made Calvin's head pound.

Before, Joe never appeared in public, and no one really knew who he was, so it didn't matter. But after he visited Jipsburg that one time, a few news pieces surfaced, and now a lot of people recognize him.

If news broke today about his fiancée threatening to jump, it would be a massive scandal-one that could even jeopardize Hawking Technologies' upcoming IPO.

Now was the most crucial time for the company's development. There could be absolutely no mistakes.

When Rosa heard the words "engagement ring" and "marry", a glimmer of hope sparked in her eyes, but it was quickly overshadowed by doubt.

"Is he really going to propose? Are you lying to me? No, no, that can't be. He just talked about breaking up; his mind is completely wrapped up in Skylar. There's no way he'd propose, let alone marry me.

"That's impossible! You're lying! He

et

doesn't care whether I live or die. Maybe he's just waiting for me to jump. If do, he'll finally be free of this burden-free of me! I won't have to see him marrying Skylar anymore. I'll finally be free.

"Stay back! If anyone takes one more step closer, I swear I'll jump."

As the doctors and nurses moved closer, her emotions spiraled further out of control.

out, "If you don't believe me, Ms. Reese, just look at my phone. I have the chat history with Mr. Sowle right here. He just sent me a message.

You

can check it out."

Rosa stared intently at Calvin's phone.

However, the distance made it hard for her to see what was written. All she could make out was Joe's profile picture.

She shook her head, her face

crumpling with despair. "No, no! This isn't right. He wouldn't agree toĕ marry willingly. He's only saying that because I'm about to jump, and he's worried it'll cause him trouble

"He doesn't love me anymore, don't you understand? He doesn't love me, so how could he possibly marry me?"

Rosa let out a bitter laugh, feeling a wave of irony wash over her. What a pathetic situation she had fallen into thinking she could be loved.
