Chapter 1358
Skylar didn't doubt Joe's feelings for her. If this had been before his amnesia, she would have been certain of it.
But over the past three years, their lives had taken different paths. Rosa had been by Joe's side, helping him recover from his car accident and even starting a business together.
This shared experience was vastly different from the ordinary arranged marriage she had with Joe.
Gloria noticed that Skylar was starting to doubt herself and quickly said, "You mustn't think that way. Rosa must have seen long ago that Joe is not Ned. After three years of being with him, she surely has some ulterior motives. It's not like the bond you share with Joe."
"Okay, I'll listen to you, Grandma," Skylar replied with a smile, wanting to ease Gloria's worries.
She glanced at the time and added, "It's getting late. Let's head back and get some rest."
Typically, Gloria was already in bed before 9:00 pm. But today, she was emotionally drained and felt tired. "Alright, I'm off to bed. Tomorrow, we'll find Joe. Just trust me on this," she said.
Skylar nodded in agreement. "Okay, I'll trust you, Grandma."
In Jipsburg City, Natalie woke up early to find a news article on her phone. It was news from Murida.
Austin had sent it to her. When she saw that the main characters were Ned and Rosa, she was stunned.
The article was filled with speculation about the mistress, causing her to furrow her brows.
She knew Ned was Joe and that Skylar had returned early to make Joe aware of his true identity. But she couldn't help but wonder why there was such a huge uproar, especially since Rosa had even tried to jump off a building.
She found those articles ridiculous. The real mistress was Rosa. There was no way Rosa didn't know Joe wasn't Ned.
She had stayed quiet for three years, so she must have been fully aware of everything.
Natalie checked the time. It was early enough that Skylar probably hadn't slept yet. If she had known about this news, then Skylar certainly would have, too.
Now Rosa was resorting to threatening to jump off a building to force Joe to marry her. It was utterly shameless and desperate.
Fortunately, just as the phone rang a few times, Skylar answered it. "I just saw the news from Murida. Is Rosa completely shameless? She's trying to force Joe into marrying her by threatening to jump off a building. What are you going to do about it?" Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
"I feel like she isn't serious about jumping. She just wants to pressure Joe into making a choice. What's going on with Joe? After all this time with amnesia, hasn't he remembered anything at all?" Natalie's anger was palpable.
Encountering such a situation first
thing in the morning made it hard for her to contain her frustration. She had thought that finding Joe meant Skylar's struggles were finally over, but she never expected so many complications to arise.
Skylar had just finished showering and was lying on her bed. "This is something Joe needs to decide for himself. He and Rosa have been there for each other for three years."
"Wait, you can't actually think that they have true love, right?" Natalie felt that Skylar was suddenly filled with self-doubt.
But then again, if she were in Skylar's position, she might think the same way. Three years was neither a long nor a short time.
For two people who had relied on each other, it was impossible not to form some feelings.
On the news, the two were shown embracing, suggesting that Joe might actually care about Rosa. However if Joe really married Rosa just because of their three years together, Natalie wondered what it would mean for all of Sky searching and waiting during those same three years. Content belongs
"Nath, I saw Joe anxiously hold Rosa on the rooftop today. That fear of losing someone is something I've felt too.
"Those three years they spent together were undeniably real. Moreover, he doesn't trust me completely yet. He still has doubts about his identity," Skylar replied solemnly.
