My Substitute CEO Bride

Chapter 1825

At the old residence, Frederic was sitting in a lounge chair under the sun.

Several of the Petro family children laughed as they played with each other in the garden.

Finnegan clasped his hands behind his back and plastered a smile on his face as he walked toward Frederic. "Enjoying the sun, Frederic?"

"Yes," Frederic replied calmly.

Finnegan rubbed his hands together. "Well... there's something I wanted to discuss with you!"

"Go ahead. As long as it's not something concerning Colby!"

He had been informed about what had happened to Colby shortly after the incident occurred and knew that Finnegan most likely was here because of that. There was nothing he could do about it.

Finnegan gritted his teeth. "He's my grandson, and we grew up inseparable. If you don't want to do it for him, do it for my sake?"

Frederick looked up lazily at Finnegan. "So what if he's your grandson? I'd be the same even if it were Cobalt who'd gotten into trouble!"

"You've got a heart of stone, Frederick!"

Finnegan smiled bitterly.

He had anticipated this ending but had still decided to give it a shot and approach his brother.

Frederick said calmly, "Don't you have descendants residing overseas too? You've got plenty of grandchildren now, so what's the problem with losing one?" Finnegan scoffed. "I could never be as ruthless as you are. I'll come up with something else since you aren't going to help me!"

"Alright, go ahead and think of a plan!"

Frederick closed his eyes once more.

The only people who would be able to help Finnegan were the State Capital's retired five-star commanders-in-chief.

He knew his colleagues well. None of them would go against Nash.

Finnegan stood in the courtyard and took his phone out so that he could begin making calls.

"Gerry..."

"Haha, I'm out of the country right now. I'll call you once I have time!"

The corner of Finnegan's mouth twitched.

Since Frederick had already been informed of what happened, it was likely that Gerry was also in the know and had decided to avoid him. After hesitating briefly, he dialed another number.

"Cedric..."

"My great-grandfather is unwell. He's on a ventilator right now. I'll have him call you once he's feeling better!"

A young lady's voice rang out from the other end of the line.

She hung up the second she finished her sentence.

Finnegan nearly threw his phone onto the ground.

On a ventilator?

He had just heard that Cedric was the champion of a competition among retired veterans a couple of days ago.

It looked like no one would help Colby.

The wrinkles on Finnegan's face seemed to become even more pronounced.

Among those of his generation in the Petro family, only his first and fourth brothers were martial arts practitioners. He and his fifth brother were businessmen while his second-eldest brother was in the military.

Businessmen were no match for martial artists and were definitely not considered competition by those in politics. After Frederick retired, he had always found excuses to turn down their requests for help in doing business.

To ensure they could stand on their own two feet, he encouraged Colby, who had always shown a flair for the law, to become involved in politics.

After over 30 years of hard work, Colby finally managed to become appointed as a governor. However, all that hard work went to waste

Colby had done plenty for the Petro family all these years, had he not?

Finnegan sighed. Then, he recalled the bad blood between Nash and the

Klein family. A sneer appeared on his face as he muttered to himself,This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

"Looks like your happy days are numbered, Nash Calcraft!"
