Chapter 39: Part Two Queen Of Hell

Chapter 39: Part Two Queen Of Hell

“Because we are from yesterday.” Camilla Dawn says. Key stops what she is doing and runs to her

side.

“What? What are you saying?” Key says.

“Because we are from yesterday and we know nothing because our days on earth are like a shadow.”

Camilla Dawn says.

“I do not understand,” Key says. Camilla Dawn opens her eyes. She stares into Key’s eyes.

“I am scared.” Camilla Dawn says. Camilla Dawn closes her eyes and goes back to sleep.

Camilla Dawn slips into a deep sleep. Her mind is reliving her past. It’s slow torture for her. She has

tried to pay for her past. There is no way to make it right unless she gives in to the watchers.

As vivid images flash before her, she knows what she must do. She must submit to Jaza. She cannot

let anyone else get hurt. The image of Sam being stabbed plays for her over and over. “No!” She

screams.

Key watches Camilla Dawn in her torment. She wonders if she knows everything that has happened.

She wonders exactly what is going through her head. She wonders if she can keep Angie away from

her.

Angie is distraught over Sam and his current condition. She lies with him in her bed. She refuses to

leave his side. “I will let no one harm you, to hell with all of them!” Angie says.

Mrs. Bee is stuck trying to keep the peace between the crew. She knew it would be difficult, but she

never thought bringing Sam back to New Orleans would cause this. Sam was like her son. Camilla

Dawn had brought trouble to her door yet again. Mrs. Bee sorted through ideas on how to remedy the

situation, but she came up with nothing. “I guess I will have to wait and see.” She says out loud.

Perdition knocks on Angie’s door. “Can I come in?” she says. “I just want to check on Sam.” Angie

hesitates. She looks at Sam’s weak body.

“I love you.” She says and kisses him on the forehead.

Angie opens the door to let Perdition in. “Come in,” Angie says.

Perdition smiles at her and hands her a cup of coffee and a beignet. “I thought you might be hungry.”

She says.

“Thank you,” Angie says. “I appreciate this.”

The two sit down in the living room. “How is he?” Perdition asks.

Angie sips her coffee. “He is weak. This is all her fault. It’s partly your fault, too. You should’ve just

given her to Jaza.” Angie says.

“I agree,” Perdition says.

Angie is in shock. “I thought she was your friend,” Angie says.

“She is, but I can’t allow anything to happen to Sam.” Perdition says.

“Angie, If I let Jaza take Camilla Dawn, he is going to want her children too. I refuse to give him any

more descendent children.” Perdition says.

“Okay. So you need someone to raise them.” Angie says. She sips her coffee and takes her beignet out

of the wrapper. “Wait. You want us to raise them.”

“Yes. I am going to make a deal with Jaza. I need the babies to be safe first.” Perdition says. “There is

a place where they can be safe. I have a family cabin between worlds. You can take them there.”

Angie is stunned. This is not what she signed up for. “You want me to raise the children of that bitch

and your brother. Are you completely mad?” Angie says.

“Not completely, but I think I can get Sam’s twins in the deal.” Perdition says.

“Wait. What about your father? Won’t Jaza use Camilla Dawn to take over the underworld?” Angie

asks.

Perdition smiles at her. “Well, Angie, my father has a twin too, Izrael, and he is a very bad boy but a

sympathetic soul. He is going to help me. He just doesn’t know it yet.”

Sam groans. “I will check on him. Angie, you need to rest.” Perdition says as she walks back to the

bedroom.

Perdition stands in the door looking at her friend. “I am going to make this right for you, Sam.” She

says. She sits down on the bed beside him. “How are you feeling?” she asks him.

Sam opens his eyes. “I feel like I have been stabbed by a demon wielding a celestial blade.” He says.

“Just be glad Labith didn’t make that blade or else you would be dead. Jaza never could make a

weapon worth anything.” She says.

“Lucky me,” Sam groans.

“Do you need anything?” She asks. Sam doesn’t answer. He just closes his eyes and drifts back to

sleep.

“I’m going to make this right.” She says. Perdition covers Sam up with the soft purple blanket. “I

promise you, Sam. I will make everything right.” RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Perdition returns to the living room to find Angie sleeping. She tries to creep out of the apartment. She

turns the knob to go out.

“I’ll do it,” Angie says. “I am doing it for Sam, not her. After I take them, she can never have them

back.”

Perdition smiles at her. “You do understand she will be no more after today. It will be over for her.”

“How are you going to get Key to agree with this?” Angie asks.

“I am not planning on asking her permission. You just deal with Sam.” Perdition says and leaves the

apartment.

Angie knew this would not be a simple swap for Camilla Dawn to stop Jaza. She had no idea how she

would convince Sam to just leave and go hide in a cabin between two worlds. They had separate lives

to live. She was willing to do anything to help Sam, even if it meant raising the babies.

“I have never raised anything except my dog.” She said as she scratched Wally behind the ears. “You

think you will be okay with two human siblings, Wally?”

Perdition went to JJ next. She had a lot to do and very little time to get everything ready for Jaza. She

met JJ in the courtyard. “I have a plan.” She says. JJ shakes his head.

“I know. I can still hear your thoughts.” JJ says. “Do you think it will work?” he asks.

“I am not sure. Either way, we can get the babies to safety and maybe save Sam in the process.”

Perdition says.

“What about Camilla Dawn?” JJ asks. “I have a plan for that too.” Perdition says.

“You’re not giving her to Jaza, are you?” Perdition smiles at him. “Let me worry about Jaza.” She says.

Perdition left JJ’s room and hurried to see Key. When she got to Camilla Dawn’s room Key rushed out

to meet her. “Is everything in place?” Key asks. “Yes.” She says.

“I will have Angie take Mrs. Bee and the babies to the cabin. They will have to come back for Sam.”

“Angie will not leave Sam,” Key says. Perdition smiles, “Leave that to me.” She says.

Perdition had a few hours to set the stage for the game she was playing. If everything played out, she

could be rid of Jaza once and for all. She needed to ensure Camilla Dawn would be awake and ready

to play.

“Sarge!” she called. She patiently waited for her companion to come to her. When Sarge approached,

she had one job for him. “Go get Chaos.” She commanded. Her trusty sidekick left promptly to retrieve

Chaos.
