Chapter 31 Please accept my apologies
“Grandfather, I wouldn’t lie to you when I say I’m not seeing any progress in this marriage.” Wayne informed, taking a sip of his wine.
Grandfather dropped his cup of coffee as he paid his attention to Wayne who was sitting in front of him.
“Why would you say so? Is there anything I was supposed to do that I didn’t?” He asked perplexed.
“Actually, it isn’t from you. It is from the both parties.”
“How?” Grandfather rubbed his beards.
“There is no tiny bit of love in it.”
Grandfather sighed and bent his head for a while.
“I know Aiden doesn’t love the lady. He was forced to get married to her in the first place.”
“It isn’t just about Aiden, grandfather. It is also about the lady in question because she also doesn’t love him.” Wayne expressed his thoughts.
“Is it about that?”
“Yes.”
“You don’t have to worry, it could be that she is just pretending. Even if Aiden and I aren’t always in good terms, I still know that there’s one charm my grandson has which is handsomeness and no lady ever has been able to resist that.”
“Well, you’re right though, I hope so too.” Wayne agreed and grandfather nodded in a smile.

“What?!” Diana shrieked immediately Tihana finished narrating her ordeal with Aiden.
She couldn’t believe her ears and so decided to confirm.
“You mean he dared invite his girlfriend to the house even after he was married to you.”
“Yeah, but that didn’t mean anything to me as he can do whatever he wish, it’s his life.” Tihana rolled her eyes.
“What got me pissed off totally was the horrible names she called me, if not that, I don’t have a problem with her. If she wishes, she could even sleep in his room with him, I don’t care.” Tihana picked the last words slowly.
Diana hugged Tihana, taking her unaware.
Diana was amazed for she has never seen anyone who is as strong as her best friend.
Tihana faces different challenges but that doesn’t stop her from acting okay to the physical world.
The hug lasted for seconds with Tihana wondering the reason for it.
“I’m sorry for everything.” Diana disengaged from the hug.
Tihana immediately got the hint she was talking about the contract marriage.
“I’ve told you several times that you don’t have to feel sorry. It wasn’t your fault, besides, no one knew the scheming bastard was going to bring something of this sort up.”
Diana rested on her car seat, still staring at Tihana as she spoke.
“Come to think of it, have you made any progress yet?” Diana raised a brow, confusing Tihana.
“Progress on what?”
“You told me the contract stated that you’ll give Aiden a baby, so how are you going about that?”
Tihana’s body shook a little at the sound of this. She has never even for one day since she got married to him, thought about the birthing a baby part.
She kind of forgot about that.
“Are you okay? Your face doesn’t look good.” Diana said with concern.
“I’m fine. It’s just that I totally forgot about that part of the contract.”
Diana gave her the questioning face and she sighed.
“Don’t look at me that way, you wouldn’t blame me.”
“But you accepted it, even the terms and conditions. Remember, you told me you signed it and it isn’t something you can easily back off on.”
“I know all these, Diana.” Tihana rolled her eyes.
“Well, what are you going to do about it?”
“I don’t know girl.”
“What are you saying?”
“What you heard is what I said Diana. One thing which is for sure is that I can’t bring myself to have any physical relationship with that man.”
“You don’t have a choice here.”
“Can we just talk about something else?”
“But we aren’t …….”
“Please.” Tihana chipped in.
Diana’s phone rang and Tihana was grateful for it.
The questions were making her anxious already.
Diana brought it out of her purse but returned it back after seeing who the caller was.
“So, back to what we were discussing?”
The phone started ringing again and Diana groaned while Tihana jubilated within herself.
“Why aren’t you picking up?” Tihana asked when she saw her friend not bothered about the call.
“It’s nothing.”
“Will you answer me now?”
“It’s actually no one important.”
The phone rang to the end without Diana making an attempt to answer it.
In few seconds, it started ringing again.
“Why don’t you answer it and maybe find an excuse to stop the persistent calls?” Tihana suggested.
“Alright I will.”
Diana groaned before bringing out her phone. She accepted the call with a small frown.
“I’m the owner of this phone and I don’t like it when I’m disturbed too much on it.” Diana said immediately.
“I answer whomever I want to, okay?”
“You know what, I’m very busy as we speak, so if you wouldn’t mind, I’m out, bye.” Diana hung up before the person could reply.
“Who was that?” Tihana asked folding her hands beneath her breast.
“Wayne.” Diana replied as she tossed her phone back into her purse.
Tihana stared at her still with the look she was wearing since Diana answered and Diana sighed.
“The fake boyfriend I hired. I have told you about him before right?”
“Yeah, but why do you sound so angry with him? Did he do anything wrong?”
“No, he didn’t.”
“Then what happened?”
“Well, I saw him at your wedding and when I confronted him, he said he was Aiden’s right hand man.”
“Really?!” Tihana asked with widened eyes.
“Yeah and he didn’t even bother to tell me before then.” There was little anger laced in Diana’s voice as she spoke.
Tihana’s mind drifted to the Wayne that works for Aiden Turner.
“What if your wedding hadn’t take place? Then I would have been kept in the dark.” Diana finished talking and rolled her eyes.
Tihana thought for a while then turned back to face Diana.
“Is that why you are angry and also avoiding him?”
“Maybe.” Diana breathed out.
“But why are you angry with him in the first place? You both haven’t gotten much closer for him to tell you everything about himself.”
“But at least, he should have told me who he worked for.”
“Why are you even bothered about who he works for? He is just your fake boyfriend and not like you both have anything special going on?”
“So, what are you saying in essence?”
“That you shouldn’t be rude to him because he is not the reason you hate Aiden.” Tihana reasoned with Diana.
Diana bowed her head for a while.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
“You’re right but I will still think about it.”
“I didn’t tell you to think about it.”
Diana only rolled her eyes.
“What are your plans for today?” Diana asked after sometime.
“If I had one then I wouldn’t be here with you sitting in the car.”
“Very well then, I would take us to somewhere that I think is okay for us to spend the weekend.”

Trenton sat down on the chair as his maids do the shopping for him.
“Sir, here is another one.” One of the maids showed him the design of shirt she came with.
The shopping has been going on for the past fifteen minutes.
“It isn’t to my taste.” He waved off as he continued to scroll on his phone.
The maid bowed and returned the shirt.
Another maid also brought a different design to him and he nodded.
“Tell the others that the shopping is over.”
The maid bowed and gave the shirts she was holding to the lady attending to them in the mall.
Trenton stood up and his maids followed him to the cashier.
He gave the cashier his card and she debited money from it.
She wrapped up the clothes in white transparent bags as she also gave Trenton back his card.
“Get me my car key from the driver.” Trenton ordered the maids.
The maids collected the bags from the cashier and took it to the car while Trenton stood, resting on the wall as he also scrolled on his phone waiting for the keys.
One of them came back seconds later and handed the keys to her boss.
“Tell the driver to take you home with the other car.” The maid bowed and left.
He was going somewhere else from here.
Trenton stood there for a while still on his phone. He checked his time at regular basis.
A man in suit walked up to him and that when he looked up from his phone.
It was the owner of the mall.
“What kept you so long? I’ve been here for the past twenty minutes.” Trenton said almost in a shout.
He was already loosing patience, if not that the meeting was very important to him and worth some cash, he wouldn’t have even tried to wait for him.
The man was the reason Trenton did some shopping in the mall but yet he was still kept waiting.
“I’m really sorry Mr Trenton. I’ve told you before that I might be very late, so please accept my apology.”
Trenton didn’t say anything again as he dipped his phone his pocket.
“Let us go in now. I’m sorry once again.”
Trenton followed the man to his office without replying.
Twenty minutes later, Trenton walked out of the office in a small smile.
The reason for the meeting was successful.
He brought out his phone as he started scrolling through his emails.
Trenton was too engrossed in his phone that he didn’t know when he crashed into a lady. His phone dropped to the floor.
The lady gave a light scream immediately her body collided with Trenton’s.
