Chapter 112: I Like You
Chapter 112: I Like You Jasmine's POV
It's been three weeks since Diego woke up from a coma. And he's getting better now. He had a fast recovery since we also hired professionals to check on him.
So far, he's okay. He could play with Diego and do some business papers that will be needed abroad. Since I have no project right now, I'm helping him.
"The team is still waiting for our camping activity, ma'am," Rhian told me. Right, I forgot about it. Bianca and Clarkson gave us money to use for the activity. It would be inappropriate if we would not continue the plan. "Tell them that we will be camping by next week. I also made a reservation in the hotel for all of us, including Erica and the rest. "I told her, which made her nod.
"What about sir Travis, ma'am?" She asked me. I stopped singing the papers when he uttered his name.
I forgot that he's also one of us. I've been really busy these past few days, and I even forgot about Nathan's request.
"You can discuss that about him. Besides whether he joins or not, the activity would still continue," I told her. She nodded after leaving my office.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
After I'm done signing the papers, my phone rings. My forehead knotted when I saw the caller. I thought for a second whether to answer it or not.
"What is it?" I asked him. He chuckled but I could hear music in the background which made me think that he is at a party right now.
"Can we talk?" He told me. What came to his mind calling me at this hour?
"I'm busy right now, Paul. I'm rushing papers, "I told him. After what happened at Bianca and Clarkson's wedding, when I said that his proposal was fake, he never talked to me. That's why I'm surprised that he called today. "Please, just this day, let's talk." What is his problem? Is he drunk or what?
"Where are you?" I asked him. I knew when I didn't come right now, he would still call me. I don't know what his problem is.
"I'll send you. I'll wait for you here," he said and ended the call. Then I received a message from him.
What is he doing in the bar? It's just three in the afternoon.
I finished the papers first before going to that place. I drove for twenty minutes before arriving at the place he told me about.
I entered the bar, and there were people drinking. My gaze went to the counter, where a man was alone drinking.
What came up with him? He called me and asked me to be there. I walk towards his direction and sit beside him. He looked at me with a glass of drinks in his hand.
"You came," he said while looking at me as he drank the hard liquor before facing me.
"And what is it that we need to talk about?' I asked him while placing my bag on the counter.
He sighs. His hair is so messy, but he still looks good.
"You know what? I don't know what is fucking wrong with me," he chuckled bitterly. I don't understand why he's acting like this now.
He is not the jolly Paul I've met. He was lonely and in trouble.
"What? I don't get you. Why are you drinking here at this hour and calling me like it was an emergency?" I asked him.
He was in deep thought, thinking about something.
"At first, I thought I had already forgotten it. I play safe. I even meet random girls just to forget my feelings for you," he paused for a moment, but I didn't understand him. Forget about me? I thought-
"I still like you, Jasmine. Yes, I'm
such a stupid guy to tell you that I do
not like you. That I stop liking you. But as day's went by, I couldn't stop but to even fall deeper." He said while looking into my eyes. I avoided his gaze on me.
I am here again in a situation where I don't even know what to say.
"Paul, we already talked about this. And it was clear. Maybe you are just drunk," I told him, but he just shook his head.
"I'm not drunk, Jaz. I tried fuck! But I couldn't stop it. Now I know why my cousin couldn't let go of you. That dumb guy." He said while shaking his head.
"Now I understand. Why did you show up to me? If I hadn't met you, maybe I'd not be in this kind of situation right now," he said. Is he saying that it's all my fault? "You know what Paul? You better stop drinking and just go home. " I told him. I stood up and tried to leave him there, but he held my hand.
"I still love you, Jasmine. I couldn't
help but fall for you. Damn! I didn't know, but I'm really attracted to you not just because of your beauty but the way you are," he said. I hate it when guys like him confess their feelings to me.
I didn't tell them to like me, and it was my responsibility to respond to them.
"Paul, stop it. You know what? The only thing you have to do is go home and get a rest, "I told him while removing his hand from my arm.
I don't have time for this. I have always avoided being in a relationship, even before. It's just that I'm traumatized by what happened to me. It's also hard for me to believe their words. They would only say that, so you fell for them. I had enough of those tricks.
"I'm telling the truth, Jasmine. Fuck.
If I could only just stop this, then I will, but I couldn't. I can't explain it. I don't understand myself. I just woke up one day and realized that I really like you. I mean that proposal. really want to do that, but I don't want to rush things. I will prove to you that I'm telling the truth and I'm lying," he said with assurance.
"Stop this Now, Paul. It's not funny at all," I told him before leaving the place.
