Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 484

After more than three years, Everett was still as stunning as ever. Time had only added a deeper layer of masculine allure to him, making him even more dazzling.

Selena hadn't been actively following his news, but after Everett took over the Bennett family business, it expanded impressively. His overseas ventures turned into massive successes, and just last year, the company went public in America. Everett was there to ring the bell himself, accompanied by his partner Paul, who was grinning as if he'd struck gold. Selena was there too, on assignment, but she made sure to stay out of sight. Once her work was done, she left without a second thought.novelbin

Everett looked stern as he carried a woman who was incredibly slender, almost frail. She was bundled up, her face mostly hidden by a mask, yet her loose clothes betrayed her thinness, with bony wrists peeking out. She seemed to have fainted, leaning weakly against him, exuding a fragile aura that tugged at the heartstrings.

Alex, walking beside Everett with a serious expression, was clearing a path for them. She was the same efficient woman as always. Since Selena and Everett were no longer connected, she hoped to remain unnoticed and quickly turned away, heading to pay her bill. Unexpectedly, a bystander, engrossed in the scene, bumped into her, causing her papers to scatter. The person quickly apologized, "I'm so sorry... let me help you with that..."

Everett, sensing something, glanced over with his dark eyes locking onto Selena. His expression instantly darkened. When Selena looked up, their eyes met.

Even in a simple outfit, Selena couldn't hide her increasingly refined beauty. Three years ago, she might have been like a delicate flower kept at home, but now she had transformed. Gone was the youthful innocence, replaced by a womanly grace that could make any man's heart skip a beat.

Alex's eyes went wide with surprise, "Isn't that... the lady? When did she get back?" She had left so decisively three years ago that Alex assumed she'd never return. But as soon as she spoke, she realized her mistake. The lady was no longer Mrs. Bennett; she was just Ms. Selena now. She instinctively glanced at her boss to see his reaction. Would he lose his cool and chase after her, or...

To her astonishment, Everett simply looked away, his handsome face revealing nothing, and continued walking with the woman in his arms. It took Alex a moment to recover, and then she rushed to catch up.

Selena, on the other hand, remained composed, as if this encounter stirred no emotions. She reassured the bystander, picked up her papers, and proceeded to pay her bill.

The hospital was bustling, with a long line at the payment counter. To pass the time, people around her started gossiping.

"Did you see that woman earlier? Rumor has it she's Mr. Everett's new flame!" someone said.

Another person chimed in, "Who is she, anyway? Every time she's here, she's wrapped up like a mummy, never showing her face. No one has a clue what she looks like or her identity!"

The first person shook their head, "I don't know either, but word is Mr. Everett bought her a mansion, like keeping a beauty hidden away!"

"Oh wow," someone else added, "Didn't Mr. Everett have a wife?"

"They divorced ages ago," the informant replied, sounding like a storyteller. "Everyone thought he'd marry that flashy pianist, Margot, after the divorce, but she ended up with nothing."
