Tyler had heard the rumors that Chad wanted to ask Bernard to return to Killian Corporation's headquarters to take over Rhett's position.

Bernard snorted. He didn't need the Killian family's measly properties. Not only did he not retort when he saw that Tyler had misunderstood the situation, but he actually went along with it and said, "Good to know your brain is functioning."

"Aren't you so ambitious? Yet you said that you'd never return to Killian Corporation's headquarters. Why are you resorting to underhanded tactics to go back, then? Aren't you ashamed?"

Then, something hit Tyler. He added, "Is it because you're afraid that Hera and I might come to have feelings for one another over time? Are you worried that we might elope?"

As far as Tyler was concerned, Hera was the biggest possibility to make Bernard change his mind.

Meanwhile, Bernard didn't take the bait. "Do I have to report to you for everything I do? What makes you think you have the right?"

"Alright. Just wait and see. You're not going to tear down Mr. Rhett this way!" Tyler turned around and slammed the door behind him.

Skyscraper's security guards were injured by Tyler and sent to the hospital for treatment. The company was waiting for a new batch of security guards to take their place.

Desmond was delighted to see it. Was Tyler also here for the same reason? Was he also here to ask Astral Nova's grandmaster to bail Rhett out? After all, he did overhear them subtly talking about Rhett.

Tyler was rather close to Rhett. He must've come here to bail Rhett out. With Tyler on his side, they stood a greater chance of success.

"Mr. Presgrave..." Desmond had just begun speaking, but Tyler didn't bat an eye at both of them. He simply left. Desmond felt a little embarrassed. As fate would have it, he saw Samson and Bernard coming out as well.

Desmond's first reaction was to assign blame to Bernard. It was no wonder Tyler left in anger. Bernard must've come here and looked for Samson to stop Rhett from being released. That must've been why Tyler was sent away and the reason for his anger.

Desmond came just in time, then. He would never let Bernard have his way.

"Hi, Mr. Shaft. I'm Desmond Atkins, and this is my family heirloom-the Wyvern Gem. It has been in the world for close to a millennium. Do you think the grandmaster will take it?" Desmond immediately stepped forward and showed off the Wyvern Gem he brought with him.

Samson was displeased with his unannounced arrival. He was about to order the bodyguards to chase them out when Bernard raised his hand and signaled for him to wait a minute.

"What business do you have with the grandmaster?" Bernard asked. He had heard about the Atkins family's Wyvern Gem. It was indeed quite rare, and he wondered if Hera would like it.

Desmond was annoyed. Samson didn't even say anything, so who did Bernard think he was to stick his nose into the conversation?

"I'm seeking the grandmaster's help to bail Mr. Rhett out," Desmond responded, and he couldn't have concealed his taunting tone even if he wanted to.

Bernard frowned slightly. Samson immediately reproached, "Who let you two in here? Get out!"

Desmond wasn't prepared for this at all. He hadn't even figured out what he said wrong when the new batch of security guards came over and tossed him out of the entrance. The girlfriend of Caroline's cousin even lost her job

over this.

Bernard left Astral Nova and went back to Silverleaf Hospital's inpatient department. However, Hera wasn't in the VIP ward.

"Where is she?" Bernard asked Johnson.

"Hera went outside. I think she's headed to the graveyard." Johnson responded.
